Winter Outerwear.

There’s no denying that the cold weather is officially here in New England. As I’ve mentioned before, I’m all for an eye-catching coat, but when it’s 20°, you just might need something warm and functional.

PS – I told you fishnets were back! Wear under jeans for some extra layers.

Leather and Fishnets.

Fishnets are so back in style it’s like we’re back in the 90’s punk/grunge era all over again. Although I was hesitant at first, they are definitely my favorite winter accessory this season. More to come on how I style them with pants and denim.

The [Casual] Blazer.

I’ll admit – I have a love/hate relationship with blazers. I often think they look way too corporate and find they are difficult to style outside of a professional atmosphere (maybe that’s the accountant in me). So, I’ve been trying to put my blazers to use as weekend wear.

Here’s what I’ve found: 1. Roll the sleeves. Instant casual vibe. 2. Pair it with items that definitely wouldn’t be seen in a work setting – IE a crop top or distressed denim. Shop some of my top picks below.

  1. Topshop Slinky 80’s Blazer | 2. Zara Velvet Jacket | 3. Mango Textured Wool Blazer |4. LOÉIL Roberta Velvet Blazer | 5. Givenchy Blazer

The Levi’s Tee.

Between Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger and Levi’s, it’s clear that those classic all-American brands are back on the upswing. Not complaining!

I was so happy to grab this one-of-a-kind distressed Levi’s tee from Mustard Yellow. With winter on its way, this piece is perfect under a denim jacket with some tights and killer boots, of course.

So Hot Right Now: Velvet.

It’s no surprise that velvet is everywhere right now. From slip dresses to shoes to suiting, there isn’t much that this on-trend fabric hasn’t touched. I got this velvet romper… yes, those are shorts!… recently and can’t get over how versatile it is. Layering under is a serious trend right now, so I tossed on a leotard underneath and called it a day: simple! When it comes to looking put together with minimal effort, it’s all about standout pieces that are easy and comfortable, just like these.

Currently Coveting: Fur Shoes.

Aside from those PUMA by Rihanna slides that have everyone talking, fur shoes are definitely having a moment. Personally, I gravitate away from the athletic version and more towards the night out ones. Safe to say these from Loeffler Randall and Parme Marin are on the top of my wish list!

Summer Culottes.

Culottes have become the glass slipper of my wardrobe… it doesn’t matter which brand, they fit like they were made for me. I paired them with feathers (yes, they’re still in!) and some slides.
