New Orleans.

After a week down in Louisiana, I’m beginning to think New Orleans might be the most picturesque city in America. There’s so much character in the atmosphere from the architecture to the street bands. Check out my must-do’s below!

Eat& Drink.

Seaworthy. You may be able to take the girl out of New England, but you can’t take New England out of the girl… which is how we found ourselves at Seaworthy. A luxurious seafood based restaurant with a great oyster selection. *heart eyes emoji*

Josephine Estelle. I’d call this menu modern Italian? Maybe? Anyway, the food is fantastic and the atmosphere is relaxed yet upscale.

Sylvain. This small French Quarter spot has a perfect courtyard and a unique menu. You must get the fried eggplant and burrata to start!

Stay.

International House. A boutique hotel with an elaborate, NYC feel.

ACE Hotel. Located slightly outside of the bustle of the French Quarter, ACE is completely sleek. Plus, it has a rooftop bar and some of the best restaurants I tried. (AKA Seaworthy and Josephine Estelle as noted.)

Catahoula Hotel. This quaint boutique hotel comes complete with a great coffee bar and cocktail selection, an intimate rooftop bar and photo-worthy industrial décor. Highly recommended!

Play.

Frenchmen Street. If you’re looking for nightlife and music without exactly the same vibe as Bourbon Street, Frenchmen is the place to go!

Shopping. For the men out there, NOLA is filled with streetwear and sneaker spots. Friend, a men’s store featuring indie designers, was one of the stand-outs, which has Freda, a similar spot for the ladies, right next door. There’s many more shops I could name, but part of the fun was stumbling upon them unexpectedly, so I want you to do the same!

In addition, some more popular attractions include the Lafayette Cemetery and The Carousel Bar, which I also highly recommend making time for.

Stay tuned: I’m talking about more of my NOLA spots on the Paridaez blog… coming soon!
